Our Mission

As an affiliate member of the Professional Association of Volleyball Officials (PAVO), Mid-Atlantic Volleyball Officials Board (MAVOB) is dedicated to serving all levels of volleyball officiating through the training and development of officials (defined as referees, line judges and scorers). 

OUR GOAL

Representing officials from NC, SC and VA, MAVOB will strive to improve the knowledge and competency of each official for all rules codes and skill levels.

OUR OBJECTIVE IS TO

  • Provide support to membership at all times by offering every official the opportunity to develop and reach their full potential through training, assessment and mentoring.

  • Serve as the volleyball official’s training and certification authority for college volleyball; the NCAA (DI, DII, DIII), NAIA, JuCo and Community College.

  • Encourage and track membership to PAVO and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Central Hub.

  • Track and maintain the testing and certification levels of its membership.

  • Evaluate and rate – practically - officials as prescribed by PAVO.

  • Host a NCAA/PAVO National Clinic as provided by PAVO.

  • Promote the use of certified collegiate volleyball officials (referees, scorers and line judges).

  • Disseminate information on the standards of conduct for volleyball officials compatible with the philosophy of PAVO.

  • Standardize and implement the latest rules and techniques approved by PAVO.
